This weekend we finally got the rest of the tree removed. The oak tree had fallen on three other trees in the back corner, so we got those three removed. Katie and I got the ruts from the tractor and the depressions where the tree fell all leveled out. We are trying to decide what to do with the area that now gets plenty of sun which has always been shaded. Some of our thoughts are fruit trees, the chicken coop, or garden. Maybe all three with a coop and run victory garden like setup.
We are going to leave the stump of the oak tree. My wife had the idea to plant something in the old hollowed out oak trunk. She thinks that would be a great place to plant succulents. Leave comments below to what you might plant in the trunk.
